Every student who has sat in Prof. VV Rao's MC class will fondly recall the session where he describes the funny story of his art teacher trying to teach how to draw the portrait of Gandhi and then goes on to effortlessly sketch the portrait himself. Prof. Rao has always been an artist at heart. Recently, he allowed the Finesse team to have a look at his sketch book and we are sharing his beautiful sketches with you.
All sketches have been done with a ball point pen. Prof. Rao almost always travels with his sketchbook in hand, and mostly draws 'en plein-air' (in the outdoors). He believes that sketching outdoors is the best way to train the eye to observe and to experience nature compared to drawing from photographs.
In the next post we will be sharing Prof. VV Rao's watercolor and acrylic works.
